Transportation
Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy will arrange transportation to and from the airport.Transportation to and from the conference will also be provided.
Metro
It gets overcrowded during the rush hours, and using the subway is the most effective way to arrive everywhere on time. Furthermore, it is the least expensive way to get around Baku besides walking. The travel cards can be purchased from all Underground Stations for AZN 2 per card. They are permanent, and can be charged with any number of trips (20 qapik per trip), and recharged at any time.
Buses
Buses and minibuses go everywhere in the city and cost 20 qapik per trip (AZN 1 = 100 qapik). Destinations are usually posted on the front and the right side of the bus.
Rent a car
AVIS, +994 50 2230248. AVIS Rent a Car provides cars, SUV and 4WD. Airport pick up and delivery service is also available.
Taxi
Taxi cabs, *9000. London taxi cabs have been recently introduced in Baku, and travel fees are 0.70AZN per km. A taxi costs 4-10AZN for trips within the center of Baku.

Royal Taxi, +994 051 880-2009 (contact@royaltaxi.az), 24 hours. Airport to city costs 15-25AZN depending on your destination in the city.
Currency
The Azerbaijan currency is the MANAT (AZN) with the following exchange rates as of June 21 of 2012.
1 USD = 0.7857AZN
1 Euro =0.9956 AZN

Weather
The weather in Baku in September is mild, temperatures vary from 19 to 26 °C, and there is very little probability of rainfall during this month. We suggest that you look at the predictions of the weather forecast, when packing for the trip to Azerbaijan.
Meals
We kindly ask participants with special dietary needs (e.g. vegetarian, diabetic) to inform us of their preferences as soon as possible.
Spouses are kindly invited to attend the Welcome Reception on Wednesday, September 26, 19.00 – 20.00, as well as Gala Dinner (Buta Palace) on Thursday, September 26, 19.00 and closing dinner on Friday, September 28, 19.00
Spouses are required to arrange their participation in other activities and meals, which are at their own expenses. Participation in the Spouse Program requires advance registration by sending an e-mail to ifdt2012@ada.edu.az or during participants' conference registration in Baku on September 26.
